New Laptop
03-Oct-06

My new Dell XPS M1210 laptop finally arrived at my door yesterday evening. I have needed a new laptop ever since my PIII 500mhz laptop's second replacement battery failed to last longer than 10 minutes on a full charge. The keyboard deciding not to work so well didnt help either. Anyway, I got a sweet deal so I got the new dell. It is a Centrino Duo 1.66 processor, 1gig of ram, 80gig hdd, a/g wifi, bluetooth, 12" widescreen, 1.3mp camera, 7+ hr extended battery. So far the laptop is living up to my expetations and then some. The battery is lasting a solid 6 hours connected to the internet with aim and firefox running. I have been installing software and watched a hour long tv show as well and it's holding up great. Hopefully I will now be able to update the site more often and add some new features in all of the time I waist sitting in class.

I have finally worked out the software on my car pc. Or so I think. I am going to reinstall windows with a special version that I have slimmed down to not contain things I dont need. Then I will install Street Deck as my front end program. This will handle all of my media, GPS, and phone intigration all in one program. It has some pretty kick ass features such as using guesters to control functions similar to handwriting recognition on Palm devices. Hopefully I will have some time tomorrow to get that up at working and I can put the last piece of my dash back together. I will have pics soon.
