So I am in the last phase of my laptop painting. What most people don't know about painting is the last and most important step. The 2 coats of gloss left a nice shine on my laptop but on close inspection it looked kinda like an orange peel with tiny variations in the surface.

The secret is to at this point sand the entire surface with 1000, 1500, and 2000 grit sand paper untill it becomes uniform and ashey dull. the reasion it is dull is because it has very fine scratches on the surface, but because of the sanding it is now super smooth. By buffing it with some scratch remover the tiny scratches go away leaving a super smooth finish. I for one did not think that this whole thing would work but looks like I was wrong. It is super glossy right now but it could be a little brighter. Tomorrow I am going to find something to polish it with so that its nice and shiny. Hopefully I will have a complete laptop tomorrow.
